Spring term 1

With dark, chilly mornings soon turning sunny and bright, this half-term promises to be an exciting time in year 3.

Below, you will find an overview of the learning that will take place this half-term. These overviews are designed to give you a clear picture of the skills and knowledge your child will be developing, as well as the texts and questions that will inspire their learning this term.

Focus 1: The Egyptian Cinderella

Purpose: To innovate a story

Focus 2: Egyptology

Purpose: To write a non-chronological report about Egyptians

 

Maths - Multiplication and division, Length and perimeter

Religious Education - What is it like for someone to follow God?

History -  Ancient Egypt: What were Ancient civilisation advancements?

Science - Rocks and Soils: What are the properties of rocks?

Further information

PE is on Monday (dance – inside) and Wednesday (golf – outside). Please send your child to school in the appropriate kit.

Water bottles need to be brought into school daily as well as a healthy snack for morning break. 

Please ensure that all your child's belongings are labelled as this helps for easier identification if they are lost. 

Please ensure your child has a reading book in school every day along with their yellow reading record.
