Autumn term 2

With frostier mornings, darker evenings and all the fun and festivity that the run-up to Christmas brings, this half-term promises to be an exciting time in year 3.

Below, you will find an overview of the learning that will take place this half-term. These overviews are designed to give you a clear picture of the skills and knowledge your child will be developing, as well as the texts and questions that will inspire their learning this term.

Focus 1: Stone Age Boy

Purpose: To innovate a story

Focus 2: Newspapers

Purpose: To write a newspaper article

Focus 3: Poetry

Purpose: To create a shape poem

Maths - addition and subtraction; multiplication and division

Religious Education - What kind of world did Jesus want?

History -  What was the significance of farming on the Stone Age way of life?

Science - Animals including humans: Why do animals and humans have skeletons?

Further information

PE is on Monday (tag rugby) and Forest School is on Thursday. Please send your child to school in the appropriate kit (including willies for forest school).

Water bottles need to be brought into school daily as well as a healthy snack for morning break. 

Please ensure that all your child's belongings are labelled as this helps for easier identification if they are lost. 

Please ensure your child has a reading book in school every day along with their yellow reading record.
