Spring term 2

Spring has sprung and the nicer weather is hopefully around the corner.

Below, you will find an overview of the learning that will take place this half-term. These overviews are designed to give you a clear picture of the skills and knowledge your child will be developing, as well as the texts and questions that will inspire their learning this term.

Focus 1: Poetry - The Sound Collector

Purpose: To innovate a poem

Focus 2: Dare to Care: Pet Dragon 

Purpose: To write a non-chronological report about dragons

 

Maths - Length and perimeter and fractions

Religious Education - How do festivals and worship show what matters to a Muslim?

Geography - Earthquakes: How do people adapt to life in an earthquake zone?

Science - Forces and magnets: What are different forces and how do magnets work?

Further information

Forest school is on Monday and PE is on Wednesday (outside). Please send your child to school in the appropriate kit.

Water bottles need to be brought into school daily as well as a healthy snack for morning break. 

Please ensure that all your child's belongings are labelled as this helps for easier identification if they are lost. 

Please ensure your child has a reading book in school every day along with their yellow reading record.
